District Associate Judge Adam Sauer reprimanded the Department of Human Services (DHS) and called out the "lies and misrepresentations" of false testimony given by social worker Chelsie Gray. The social workers was found to have repeatedly lied to get parental rights revoked, and it's not the only time she did it.
The judge ruled the parents were "unfairly stripped of their parental rights". He dismissed the petition to terminate parental rights for the couple and their 4 children. He also rules that "referrals for new foster case placements shall stop immediately".
The upturn in justice for the Iowa parents of 4 started when discrepancies were noticed by the Cerro Gordo County assistant attorney Nichole Benes. Rather than ignore the social workers testimony and just go for a "win" for the state case against another set of parents, the assistant attorney had more integrity and let the court know what she found, as well as reported her findings to the AG's office and DHS.
The social worker, Chelsie Gray, claimed to have fulfilled the state policy of visiting the children monthly. But that was a lie. Many social workers do this. Children in foster care could be abused, but social workers wouldn't know about it because they just do drive-bys and pretend to check up on the kids.
But this social workers did more lying that just that. She claimed to have talked to teachers at the school about "concerning behaviors" at school. When the teachers were contacted to confirm this, they said they were never contacted by the social worker.
Another lie was claiming the mother tested positive for drugs, and that she wasn't complying with the terms of the plan to regain custody. This false testimony led to a Judge Gregg Rosenbladt taking away all parental rights from the parents last year, after he found her to be a "very credible" and unbiased witness.
As a result, the 4 children suffered the trauma of needless separation into foster care. They were going to forever be stripped from their family. Thanks to Judge Sauer who found the "false testimony is of grave concern". A review of Chelsie Gray's other cases revealed "10 known instances in which she gave false information".
Sauer said terminating parental rights is an important decision which must be made on fair and facts and evidence, which wasn't the case.
"What does not, or at least should not happen, is that an agent of the government, charged with the task of safeguarding the welfare of children, would completely fabricate contact with a family in order to mask non-compliance with the agency’s policy."
"Providing false testimony of any kind is an unfathomable violation of the trust that the people in the State of Iowa place in their public servants and cast a dark and permanent shadow upon all of us."
But public servants like case workers often give false testimony, as do others like child abuse specialist doctors, or other doctors in vaccine injury cases, who blame parents. As a result, children get stolen from parents, all based on false accusations, and sometimes outright lies, which puts children through trauma of separation at the least, if not more severe abuse in foster case as victims of physical abuse, sexual assault, sex trafficking or death.
Parents have come forth with screenshots of CPS workers posting to social media to look for white, blond, green eyed children under 2 that they know someone wants to adopt. Other whistleblowers have described how supervisors tell them to drive through neighborhoods and look for children playing outside that match a description, then invent false allegations in order to kidnap those children "legally".
A reporter in 2007 exposed CPS social worker corruption, revealed by several whistleblowers, that are still ongoing:
…“confidential” family court tapes showing just how the system works, and how the actions of some caseworkers even disturb some of their fellow caseworkers. Records supporting parents seem to “disappear.” They also reveal conflicts of interest between case workers and foster parents who may be related to the case worker placing the child into the foster home.John Boel explains that CPS whistleblowers reveal how Kentucky families are harassed, and CPS workers are pressured to boost State adoption numbers.
[One] former CPS worker explains how CPS is all about statistics, about how many children can be placed into adoption, since State and Federal reimbursement funds are all tied into statistics. She explains that CPS workers are encouraged to put more children into adoption.
These CPS whistleblowers also confirmed that CPS can and does take away children simply to retaliate against people who try to fight or expose the system.
What happened with Chelsie Gray isn't an isolated incident, but a history of misconduct. Will Gray face consequences? Maybe, but maybe not. The prosecutor is looking into the case and will decide if charges are to be files for perjury. The other 10 cases she gave false information in weren't mentioned to be investigated. But as of September 23, she no longer works for the DHS, because she left, not because she was fired for what she did.
The judge's ruling in this case is a huge win for recognizing the injustice of CPS and the corruption endemic to the institution. CPS has victimized many parents who have executed undue authority over their lives. Medical and state-sponsored kidnapping of children is an ongoing issue, with CPS workers fabricating lies and giving false reports themselves, or acting on false accusations.
Parents have documented their ordeal with CPS and social workers, but it almost never goes anywhere in court. This time however, a judge has seen the light of truth and has fought for the parents in their battle with the corrupt social worker and CPS/DHS. Judges seem to be waking up lately. Last week a judge from Texas also came down on CPS, ordering them to have no contact with two children that the agency had unjustly taken from their parents.
