WEDNESDAY WALK
That is exactly what it was. A regular Wednesday, a regular walk. But there was something much better than the regular as time passed. You see, I have to go work everyday. I get a week off and the rest of the month is spent fulfilling the on-call shifts. The only time I have some peace of mind is when I go out for my morning walk.
Walking is therapeutic to me. It is the best thing in the world. The only thing better than walking is...the morning walk. Rarely do I get these chances. Usually these beautiful mornings are spent doing what I love.
My regular spot is in the family park. It is always lively, cheerful and the birds do not forget to sing songs in your name. Ok, that is just what I imagine, the rest is true. There is nothing better than going for a walk in the early morning as the sun rises and the grass is freshly cut.
However, since COVID-19, the parks are on lock down too. That didn't stop me. We are going to take a walk around the park. It is a beautiful cool morning. The sky is a little cloudy and there is smell of rain lingering in the air. It is as beautiful as the weather gets in U.A.E.
Since the quarantine has been imposed, I have set a few goals for myself. I must have shared them, but let me tell you. One of them is to invest more time into my passion for photography. I have streamlines it into digital portfolio/media photography. And further narrowed it down to "aesthetic" or "mood" pictures.
It is a very vague and unpopular style. But I like it and everything surrounding it. Today, was yet another chance for me to further dive into my goal. The weather was perfect and the flowers inside the bushes of the park were just blooming.
I tried photographing or at least capturing the essence of the vibe I wanted my pictures to present. A mood or aesthetic, if you will. It becomes rather challenging when you have to use the light, angles and set provided by nature...and all you have is an android phone.
However, I am pretty pleased with what I managed to get. The biggest challenge was the fence and buildings that would show up in some of the pictures. In the top picture (already posted here) you can see how instead of ignoring it, I embraced it to complete the image.
I collected few amazing pieces to work with. Some clearly will need more effort than others. And some will require more creative brain power than the rest. Practice makes perfect, right? I am glad the park was closed. Imagine trying to take pictures while people run past you...ugh !
One more quick lap and was home bound with a handful of pictures and blood pumping ready for the day. It rained later today and it was beautiful. I completed one of the pictures and I'm hoping to do one more, tomorrow. Hope you had a great Wednesday, too!
