Aurora is a Sun Conure and she's the most recent addition to our family. There she is in all her vivid colors, just chilling on my wife's shoulder.
Most birds develop a close bond with one member of the family and Aurora definitely loves her daddy. She's quite special, however, in that she adores attention from everyone in the family.
There she is with her dad, taking full advantage of my prone position a bit before bed time. It's rare to see her spread her wings outside of flight. Bath time is a great chance to get a better view of the patterns on her wings.
Aurora sleeps in her covered cage overnight but is free range during the day. At least she is on days when we are home, which is most everyday these days.
Yes, she flies around as she desires and she's also a clean animal. When she isn't eating, pooping, drinking, or seeking attention, she sits and prunes her feathers. It's another good time to see her colorful wings.
Finally, being the offshore angler that I am, I've always fashioned myself as a bit of a pirate. Though I lay off the rum these days, Aurora makes my pirate life complete.
