When I was on the hunt for the P I was already scared of the hunt that would follow up next.
So, I think the easy days are over in the #AlphabetHunt Challenge hosted by the great artist Barbara in the Feel Good Community: illustrate 6 words (or concepts) starting with the letter of the week.
I said the easy days are over and I meant at least this weeks letter, which is the Letter "Q": AlphabetHunt, the quaint letter Q - and the winners of the lucky draw for the #P week...
Hunting the "Q"
#AlphabetHunt

I have seen that almost all of my words have already been used in other Q hunt posts. If it was another letter, or better said if it was an easier letter I would have changed the words I already had in mind, but so I thought of trying different illustrations and due to the quality of photos I made, I had to make heavy use of the Nik Filter Collection in Photoshop.
Queen
Thank you so much for this tip, dear Jo π€
Although I couldn't travel back in time and take a photo of Freddie Mercury and his guys, you gave me the idea of photographing a Queen. Because a trip to England is no option for me at the moment I have found another Queen which is called Dame here in Austria, what means Lady in English.
The card is used in a traditional card game called "Schnapsen", which we sometimes play. To explain the rules here would be too much, so I have added a Wikipedia link right below ;)
: for this image I have used the extension tubes we have been talking about a while ago. They work fine but there's almost no depth of field when you use all 3 tubes: "JJC 12/20/36mm Auto Focus AF Macro Extension Tube Set for Canon". Whenever I have a flat object like this card I will use the tubes, but I don't think I'll use them in the field, at least not all three together.
Quartz
In my thirties I've been wearing one Swatch watch on each hand. I was collecting these plastic watches at this time and I enjoyed wearing them, but I had no reason for wearing two watches at the same time π I still have a little collection of Swatch at home like this Swatch IRONY which clearly shows that it has been worn night and day.
This Automatic Swatch Irony is called BODY & SOUL and there are 21 Quartz jewels built in this watch - you can read the number 21 in the center of the back side of the watch.
By the way, nowadays I do not wear any watch anymore ;)
QR Code
Maybe this is cheating, but I had no idea how to make a QR Code myself, so I used the free web service of QRCode Monkey. What is a QR Code? QR Code means Quick Response Code. It is a kind of barcode which contains information, like this QR Code will tell you the address of my Blog at PEAKD.com.
Q-Tip
What could I say about the Q-Tip? Everybody knows it and everybody uses it. I could have taken a used one, but this image is ugly enough I believe π
QWERTZ Keyboard
I have cleaned the keyboard before I took the photo, honestly. The dirt must have come from the filter I used in Photoshop ;)
The QWERTZ keyboard layout is mainly used in Germany and Austria and the main difference to the in English speaking countries used QWERTY keyboards is the switched position of the Z and the Y.
Quilk
When I was complaining that the letter Q would be so hard for me, my dear friend Jo did a quick research and told me that there's a village called Quilk not very far away from my home. Well, it took me about 3 hours to ride to this village in Styria which consists of a few houses only, and my way lead over a beautiful mountain pass called SΓΆlkpass.
I know this image looks like a composite, but I had to blur the background, because there were also people around and I didn't want to bother them. It must have looked suspicious anyway when a black dressed man on a black Harley thundered up the hill to the village, photographed the sign and rode backdown the hill again.
Please don't ask me about the names of these mountains. I have never been in this valley before and I have no idea π
Well, that was it for this week's hunt - unbelievable, but I have found and shared 6 words starting with Q and I do hope you like my selection a bit, because it was a hard one for me π
