As many of you know I recently started playing guitar again after a 20 year break. I signed up for guitar lessons on Fender Play, which is a guitar course promoted by the Fender Guitar Company.
I breezed through the first 3 sections of the course, which was all beginner material. You take a test at the start of the course, and it originally started me at the fourth chapter of the course but I thought it might be a great idea to review and I'm happy I did. I actually learned a few things, had some things come back to me that I forgot, and it helped to fix some of the bad habits I had picked up before.
I was pretty excited to discover this track being taught at the end of third part of the course.
Billy Roberts - Hey Joe
This song was made famous by Jimi Hendrix who happens to be one of my all time favorite guitarists. I always thought Jimi wrote this song. I'm still trying to get the strum pattern right, and I'm trying to figure out a little improvisation but I'm having a lot of fun learning this one. Maybe if I get some courage I'll post a cover of it down the road.
