**Happy New Year Everyone!! Let us start this year full of hopes and smiles. :) **
In my country, everybody is busy buying foods and drinks. Our habit is to buy 13 kinds of fruits because it symbolizes good luck for the following months of new year. The 13th kind symbolizes all year luck or extra luck. Fruits that are not sweet should not be bought because it symbolizes bad luck. Some people like to celebrate their new year in hotels while others go to their relatives and celebrate with them. We really love to gather because it is happier and more fun.
Days before celebrating new year, people are already planning what to cook usually up to 6 kinds of food will be served. When it is 9pm, there is a mass held for Catholics and will finish at around 10 to 10:30pm. I really try to jump once it reaches 12am because there is a saying that if you jumped, you will grow taller. (It is not bad to follow superstitious beliefs as long as it will not harm you nor other people).
New Year's resolution is also popular where you would list down everything you want to change or accomplish for the upcoming new year. As for me my new year's resolution are:
- Don't give a damn about what other people think of me.
- Aim for what I want and love doing not what others want.
- Avoid fighting with other people and just enjoy life (lessen stress, overthinking, etc.).
