Oh Steem. Well I guess this will be my final post on HF21. Never liked it anyway. Onward! So this is a little digital sketch I made today. Sometimes I'm sitting around and I'll think of a new approach to do some technical thing and that's what happened here. The thing, is a super in the weeds technical thing, but an application of it allows me to have a nice setup for some snowy mountains.
I had a thought to make this post a little more interesting than just seeing the final result with a screenshot of my desktop in app, which means nothing to almost everyone and I made a video that will mean nothing to almost everyone, but it's a video, so it's better.
It's just a sped up video of me showing how this scene is set up and tweaking a few controls so it's visible what some of the controls are that I have in here. When people are totally new to 3D, they're thinking there's a snowy mountain button somewhere, or that it works like clipart where I just drag and drop a mountain into my scene(it is getting pretty close to this with new innovations and products) but no it's all built from scratch using a bunch of skills and knowledge acquired over years and years, but once you have that knowledge you can whip out pretty cool stuff rather quickly.
This is the shot from the end of the video. I didn't show the entire process, I didn't even know I was going to make a post out of this, it started with me just experimenting with that technical in the weeds thing I mentioned above, and turned into this. This scene is really meant for more far away shots than this one as you can see the pixelation in the closest mountain on this shot, whatevs, you guys get the picture.
See you in HF22!
