Both of us must suffer from this same unending ache
This is the second Bright Eyes song I've woken up with in my head somewhat recently. As I described in the post about the last song, I hadn't really listened to much Bright Eyes at all for years and years, but had decided to give it another shot when the news came out that the band was getting back together to tour and do a new album, I was interested again.
This is definitely one of my favorite songs on the 2007 album Cassadaga, which isn't really a bad album, but certainly isn't one of the best that they've done, in my opinion. There are a few stand-out tracks and then a few that I just don't really care for all that much. I'm hoping that the new album they do will be good, but I'm also not holding my breath.
Not to sound like a goddamn hipster or purist, but it seems like a lot of bands start off good, peak, and then can't really seem to capture the same level of awesomeness with their later albums. Or maybe it's just the listener becoming jaded, which is certainly possible.
It's been a while since I posted one of these, but it's mostly because I don't have time in the morning. I've decided that I'll just post them whenever I get a chance, even if it's not morning. It doesn't really matter, right?
