This is my entry to "TAKE a PIC and comment". A CCC-contest hosted by @olivia08. The theme is sea/seashore.
The last time I visited a beach was in 2018.
June it was and we went to Scheveningen beach. We left late, could not find it and it was cold! Extremely cold and a strong wind blew.

It was the last time I spoke my friend by telephone. She intended to meet there.

After we parked the "Beelden aan zee" (Statues at the sea) welcomed us. This was my place, this is my life. Statues made about fairy tales. I wrote about nearly each statue I photographed a story or haiku or poem at the Dutch site Yoors.

What more needs a fairy tale lover as this world of tales...

Gulliver was present and the dwarfs were found everyone. One missed someone took it.

You remember this soldier? He fell in love with a ballerina.

This sculpture is not about a tale but stands for Scheveningen. Scheveningen always been a fishery village. "Haring happen" (eating herring) is what is common in Scheveningen and the Netherlands and is what this sculpture does. You keep the herring at it's tail above your head and bite it.

It was the first time my two youngest saw this beach or any beach and sea shore in the Netherlands.
This is the "pier". It is finally renovated. There are shops and restaurants inside. Most of them already closed at the time we arrived (we decided to visit Sealife after we saw all the sculptures).

A very strong wind and a wild sea.
At the end of the Pier you find a Ferris Wheel. No idea what it costs to go inside. A ticket has to be bought at the entrance of the Pier.

The "Kurhaus" in Scheveningen. It is famous, I never been inside. In front of it you see souvenir shops and restaurants. All expensive and not as exclusive as thought.
