Regards steemians. The other Day i have received an amazing photo as a Gift from my cousine and i've thought that i should introduce you this wonderful Myth about the " Sanzaiene", a Sacred custom from Romania.
Sânzienele are, in Romanian mythology, good daughters of the class of the fairies, but which, when they are not respected the feast becomes worthy of Pentecosts and they become associated with evil fairies. Sometimes Sânzienele are synonymous with Drăgaicele, manifesting, according to superstition with the Day of celebration for the John the Baptist from the date of June 24.
Besides the typical manifestations of the supernatural creatures of the class of the fairies, Sânzienele also have the so called, eye manifestations: flowering flowers, fluffy tresses and they are hung overnight by the eaves and, as the morning rises, the luck of those who did the sacred custom will be established.
"Sanzienele", sometimes are associated with: Iana Sanziana & Ileana Cosanzeana, but they are totally different.
Cosanzeana, is a honeysonde, a Flora (etimology of Cosangeana), and Sânziana is an astral goddess, a Selene (etimology of Sancta Diana). Some have identified Iana Sânziana with the Thraco- Dacian Bendis, she herself identified with Diana.
The famous writer, Mircea Eliade proves interesting that Sancta Diana from Sarmizegetusa became Sânziana, just as the Dianatians (the ones possessed by Diana) gave the Romanian language a scatterbrained meaning.
Wonderful story from the Thraco-Dacian Land of Romania. Enjoy it dear steemians.
For such a story maybe some modern music would fit. Even the title has some meaning behind it.
Regards steemians.
