I first posted about this here. I have finally, Finally manged to get around to finishing the chest of drawers that I initially started * ahem * last January.
This is the finished article, and I couldn't be happier. In totally it probably cost around £150. £50 for two Ikea Rast chest of drawers at £25 each, £55.50 for 8 knobs (I got 4 as part of a present. It would be £83.40 for 12 knobs), and the legs with fittings were £20. I already had the plywood base, the wood stain and clear varnish from a previous project. If you had to buy the other materials, then rounded up to £200, I'd say that's not bad for a unique real wood 6 drawer chest.
Look at those fancy knobs! Dodecahedron? Truncated icosahedron? If anyone out there is good at identifying polyhedrons, let me know!
