What a sick joke. The justice system in the UK has let down the victims of this disgusting mans crimes. How can any society call itself civilised when cretin's like this are allowed to walk free after less than 10 years!?
Reading this article this morning really annoyed me. Releasing him is bad enough but to do it in the area he hunted his victims in is an ouright insult to the those whose life he destroyed. Many of his victims are still unknown and will NEVER be the same after meeting this bastard.
For those of you who don't know who this scumbag is I'll give you a brief rundown.
Believe it or not the following is from his Wikipedia page! .....
John Radford (born John Worboys in June 1957 in Enfield, Middlesex) is a convicted sex offender, known as the Black Cab Rapist. Worboys was convicted in 2009 for attacks on 12 women. Police believe that he may have had more than one hundred victims, which would make him one of Britain's most prolific sex attackers.
Warboy's black cab.
You can click the link to read more however I don't want to dwell to much on the details of this POS's crimes, I'd rather focus on the ridiculous system that is preparing to release him back onto the streets of Britain.
Lets dig a little bit into the article to see what the parole board, justice secretary and other pontificating politicians are saying about this travesty of justice........
Black cab rapist John Worboys has been moved to a prison near to where the vast majority of his attacks on women took place, it has emerged.
Worboys, 60, from Rotherhithe, east London, has moved over 200 miles from HMP Wakefield to Belmarsh in the capital ahead of his impending release on parole. The Sun reported that he was driven down over the weekend.
Victims have previously requested that Worboys, who was jailed indefinitely in 2009 for 19 offences against 12 victims, including rape and sex assault, be banned from London.
Last week a letter was signed by city MPs, led by Boris Johnson and Zac Goldsmith, urging the Parole Board to exclude him from the capital.
Am I missing something here? What difference does it make whether he lives in London or not? Yes I realise it would be a slight comfort to victims however it's not where he is released that is the issue, it's the fact he's being released at all that is the main concern here , surely?
He will be held at Belmarsh before being found temporary lodgings at a probation hostel. The move comes just days after the Government opted not to challenge his release.
Justice Secretary David Gauke decided it would not be appropriate to seek a judicial review of the case after taking legal advice.
Lawyers for victims have since confirmed they intend to move ahead with their own challenge over the next few days.
The outcry over his release first erupted earlier this month when the Parole Board opted to release him, despite serving less than ten years behind bars.
The Parole Board said last week that it noted the Government's decision not to proceed with judicial review proceedings, and welcomed the expansion of the review.
This is a 'man' who was terrorising women on the streets of London, drugging and raping them on an industrial scale. Just 10 years ago!
Why would anyone think that he is not a danger anymore? He has served just 9 years of an indefinite sentence, a sentence that was to be reviewed when he was deemed to not be a danger to women anymore.
What has changed?
Why is he all of sudden NOT a danger to women?
He is only 60 years old, he is in good health. I wouldn't release this scumbag if he was terminal, it would be an insult to those who's life he has destroyed with his disgusting crimes.
Please take time to read this article by one of the anonymous victims of Warboys. I'm not going to put it directly in the post as it is upsetting and unnecessary, it does need to be linked here though for those who aren't aware of the trauma these victims are having to relive once again as this story hit the headlines.
But even worse than his impending release is this little nugget of information which I'm sure will incense many along with his victims.
Check this out from dailymail.co.uk ......
Fears serial black cab rapist John Worboys could be awarded damages from his VICTIMS if their last-gasp bid to block his release fails.
- The 60-year-old sex attacker received an indeterminate sentence in 2009.
- Worboys was jailed for drugging and sexually assaulting 12 women in his cab.
- But a Parole Board decided last year he no longer presented a risk to the public.
- A solicitor for two victims is planning to launch a legal challenge to his release.
However, she says that if it fails, Worboys could have a claim for damages.
Serial black cab rapist John Worboys could win damages if a last-gasp judicial review to block his release fails, a lawyer has said.
Harriet Wistrich, a solicitor representing two of the sex predator's victims, is planning to launch a separate legal challenge to his release on Wednesday.
But Ms Wistrich, who works for Bimberg Pierce, told The Sun that if that bid fails, there's a chance Worboys could have a claim for damages.
'If we hold back his release, if we fail, he may have a claim for damages,' she told the newspaper.
'The fact is that under the law, his release would have been held back.'
WTF?! So if this deviant is stopped from being released early he can sue his victims!!
Are you freaking kidding me? What has the world come to when a serial rapist can sue his victims and win because they block his release?
It ain't right.
As a civilised society we must do better than this, not just for the victims but for the ones who you hope never become victims.
It is my sincere hope that a last minute government intervention happens here, God knows they're useless when it comes to almost everything but the politicians will earn their inflated salaries if they stop this injustice, however I have my doubts. So the best we can hope for is that some of the previously unknown victims find the fortitude to step out of the shadows to face their attacker so he can be sent back to jail hopefully this time for life.
Thank you for reading.
