The Ganges, also known as Ganga, is a trans-border river in Asia. The river flows through India and Bangladesh.
It is considered a holy river among many spiritual Indians. Every fragment of the length of the river is considered to be embodiment of sacredness.
However, the river is also one of the most polluted.
Recently, a 45 year old woman, who was taking a holy dip, was filmed by none other than her own gang rapists. The men raped, filmed, and uploaded the same on the internet.
Initially, the woman decided against reporting to the police. Later on, she gathered herself together and registered a complaint with the police after the video went viral.
This gang rape happened in the Indian state of Bihar, where the state women commission has taken a cognizance of the case. Age of decadence or a rise in reporting?
