Actually you should run away from any one trying to tell you for sure witch altcoin will be most valuable in 2017 , no one accurately can tell you that . I mean who would say bitcoin will succeed in 2010 yet it compete with gold now .
All i can say i can present some feature that i think should be provided in next big coin for 2017
1 - it should fix some difficulty in bitcion
I am sure you know that there is some obstacle facing Bitcoin , some are affecting it is progress now and other may show there affect later on . some to mention : long block time , trend towered centralization , anonymity , debate on its fungibility ,,, etc .
2 - More simple more focused
Bitcoin tried to replace fiat currency worldwide witch is huge and it showed nice progress in that , but i think the next big Altcoin will be more specific for certain gool like targeting only social media like steem or international transaction or even game market . That for me is very important to success simply because focusing on one area give you better control to adjust quality and there is countless successful example in market .
3 - Mass adoption
This is the real value of every thing , if not valuated by people then no value at all . Next big coin will succeed by people use which is offcourse give it more value than other , How this coin can get enormous mass adoption , am not sure but looking at what steemit is doing give you some hope :)
It is true what they say that the real adopter of cryptocurrency ( average and poor people ) didn't enter crypto world yet .
I am not an expert in cryptocurrency but am following it closely , invested in it and trade it for the last few years and because am one of the first adopter in my country people always asking me .
So am just an ordinary man interested in crypto and my humble advise is looking at this crucial feature and implement them in any altcoin to end up with nice list you can bet on for 2017 , actually i made my list and already invested in some :)
Steem will succeed , i have no doubt about it but it will as a social media platform . which coin will succeed for purchase things online , buying from nearby store , game market , movies making , voting in election ,,, etc that is for time and people to decide .
