A few days ago, came across a rather annoying glitch in the CryptoBridge decentralized currency exchange that I had been using quite happily up till then.
Apparently, when a new CryptoBridge user account is set up, a small amount of the Bitshares BTS token is gifted to the CryptoBridge account to cover any exchange fees needed when trading one crypto currency to another. Unfortunately, after a few transactions the BTS runs out, and you get an error saying you have an insufficient BTS balance.
The problem is, there is no way you can buy BTS tokens within the account, and it took me a few Google searches, leading to a few different Reddit threads that discussed this issue. The most common solution seems to be to ask someone to send some BTS to you, or use an exchange like Binance to convert some bitcoin or other crypto to BTS, and then send it to your CryptoBridge username.
The problem was, I only had a tiny amount of Bitcoin left in my Binance account, not enough for the minimum amount needed to change it into BTS. So I was stuck. Grrr, big omission, CryptoBridge. Why don't you just let people buy some BTS when they need it?
Then I thought of the idea of transferring some Steem into my Binance account, as all my other funds are trapped in CryptoBridge due to the BTS balance error preventing crypto being sent out to an exchange that actually supports BTS.
But then I made a neat discovery. All I need to do is select Sell in my Steem wallet, which takes you to Blocktrades, and bingo, there is an option there to sell a small amount of SBD, and buy some BTS, sending it to the same username I use on CryptoBridge, which also happens to be a Bitshares username apparently. Problem solved, now I can get BTS for my CryptoBridge trades, any time I want, quick and easy.
So if anybody out there has this issue, and is also a Steemit user, you can use this fix.
