I posted an ad on Craigs last week that I was interesting shooting a model that knew about crypto currency. I had a few strange replies then I got a message from Caren stating she was totally into the blockchain and has been researching trading crypto currencies.
Last night Caren and I drove up the PCH to Malibu and shot right after sunset. I wanted some dark and moody images for this shoot and the light is fantastic along the cliffs and caves of El Matador Beach. The first thing Caren said to me when she got in my SUV was, "So what's up with you and crypto currency? I really like Ethereum." I knew this was going to be a fun shoot.
I brought a beauty dish and grabbed a few dramatic shots before a giant wave almost took me out. NOTE: the hard line was a mistake but I liked it when I pulled it up in Adobe Lightroom
After a giant wave almost swept away my expensive light rig I decided to go all natural light. I was armed with a 50mm 1.2 and a 135mm 2.0
Since Caren is a commercial photographer she started to direct me, just a little. Asking me if I was getting full body shots and occasionally very specific as to what she wanted. That's a first for me LOL.
Schweeeeeeeeeeeeee...
I grabbed a couple of images just guessing on the focus. There was hardly any light at this point.
The Profoto D1 light is super powerful and not capable of going to low power, so I turned the light away from her and just skimmed her with the edge of the light emitting from the dish.
I told Caren about Steemit and she's opening an account; I'll be sure to repost her introduction post once she's been approved by Steemit.
What a fun model/Steemian! Caren and I already talked about doing a few more shoots in the near future; probably the desert is next. Maybe a long exposure shoot since the full moon cycle is just around the corner.
This post was for Crypto Dummies where I am a contributor of content and photography. Stay tuned!
Thanks for all your support so I can continue to post amazing images and write articles.
