I, just like many others have been brainwashed into thinking that investing in a global market is too risky. We always hear about trading, never about buying and holding. Whether it be a stock or crypto currency. They're pushing our tradition to encourage us to save and put the money in the bank when the governments continue to print money like its going out of fashion. This causes inflation so we end up losing the purchasing power of the fiat currency (cash) we have sitting in the bank, its terrible. One of the most important things to do is to invest especially when computers are taking up so many jobs. I have learnt to reprogram my brain and invest in different forms of wealth and encourage people to do the same. The best thing about crypto is that a large majority have a max supply meaning they cant print the way the government does. Gold ,silver and land are also great ways to invest. A silver coin is only £20 and most people will spend more on a takeaway.
Investing can be scary for new comers, mainly the fear of stepping into the unknown. Many people have lost money in the crypto market due to the lack of experience. Most people I speak to think you have to be a day trader which is not true at all. Day trading is extremely risky only roughly 10% of day traders are successful, also you have to be at your computer all day buying at a low and selling at a high. Most people have jobs and already have a lot to do with there day so this sort of investment would not work for the masses. Most of successful traders have inside knowledge on what's going to happen next its not for the average person at all.
Holding is much more efficient the term (HODL) means hold on for dear life. Rather than spending countless amount's of hours on a computer trying to buy and sell at the right time, I have a set allocated amount of money I put in at the end of every month. This has so many benefits one being I don't have to be around looking at charts all day second being that I'm dollar cost averaging. Thirdly my portfolio gets stronger and stronger. This process could also be looked at as long term accumulation. I have been doing this for years and have seen the benefits of this, I will continue to do this for many more years to come. Another great benefit to this is my emotions are more in control so when the market goes down its less likely to bother me, if anything I would invest more because what goes down must go up if its a valuable coin.
Many people try day trading and lose because everyone wants instant gratification. Think about it, if I want to date someone I would go on a dating app its instant. if I wanted to eat I'd go online and order rather then cooking which could take up to an hour. The same principle is applied when we look at investing however most of the greats know that long term is always the best route without question. Learning to think long term in such a fast paced world is hard however its possible, and could set you up for the later years of your life.
