It appears that the spate of exit scams and peer to peer fraudulent acts are unending in crypto and in the crypto world. This is coupled with the fact there are a lot of newbies in the space and there will be many more in the nearest future.
This kind of rising news put fears in the mind of prospective investors and potential contributors to the crypto space in general.
During the day, the news of an exchange being hacked sparked discussion about the safety of having our coins under our control instead of keeping them on an exchange . However, since we can mostly trade them for alts on exchanges, this predisposes us to the myriads of unforeseen circumstamces.
Also, peer to peer or Over the counter trading (OTC ) isnt as safe as it seems as well. There have been lots of scams and more reported. Also, there are trading done within small groups on telegram, whatsapp and such.
A friend was saying in a group how someone was scammed of 5000 usd worth of btc just today. ### This is just not fair and devilish.
I would suggest we watch our coins since they are our assets.
