There are 3 requirements for something to be money -
It has to be a store of value
It has to be a medium of exchange
It has to be a unit of account
Crypto prices vary wildly, and are prone to speculation. Thus, they can't be a reliable store of value.
To be a medium of exchange, it has to be traded for other goods. The problem here is that A) Not that many transactions are in Crypto, and B) That it is not a unit of account.
To be a unit of account, things have to be priced in Crypto. The issue here is that almost all Crypto is priced based on USD, or some other countries currency. Thus, it is just a tool of barter based on respective values to actual money.
