"Preservation of one's own culture does not require contempt or disrespect for other cultures." - Cesar Chavez
It's been quite a while since those early days back in 2008 when a couple of bitcoin miners could barely make a living creating blocks 24/7.
Also, a lot has change in the Valley of The Gods in recent times.
Nowadays with people more aware that killer apps are something usual, everyone is trying to get an edge by using some new technology.
But, what about the culture?
The Community Standards
We've all seen that scene in The Social Network where Sean Parker (Justin Timberlake) was about to get busted by having some grams of cocaine during a party.
It appears that it all revolves around venture capitalists, testosterone, wild ideas, sex, money...you get the point.
But it appears that the crypto culture it's radically different.
Prodigies With Different Values
Vitalik Buterin, Charles Hoskinson, Andreas Antonoupoulos, etc.
They share standards that sometimes go in the complete opposite direction of your average technophile born and raised in the valley of freedom surrounded with ethereal cultural conversations in Twitter, TikTok or YouTube.
Don't get me wrong, they are also innovative minds but their spirits resemble more that of Nikola Tesla, compared to the usual Alba Edison with a greedy banking partner right next to him.
Their tactics and strategy rely more on the power of their community than the size of their wallets filled with a zero-value fiat currency.
No More Facebooks Please
For the first time we are seeing the possibility of people in remote corners of the world raising capital and showing competitive levels compared to your average young Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg back in the day.
They are no longer tied to a geographic location or limited by a corrupt government with unreliable banking systems nor by their social networking abilities face to face.df
And even if the "crypto-space" it's filled with scammers (BitConnect), the "Sillicon Warriors" have had their share as well (Elizabeth Holmes).
The culture of the tech revolution is no longer only getting even more heterogeneous, but massively decentralized.
