Crypto Africa is the name I choose for my post of Blockchain technology and Cryptocurrency adoption across Africa.
Today, I write about Electroneum aiming to implement a working Ecosystem in South Africa.
Electroneum (ETN) is striving to achieve a global adoption in the telecommunications sector of economies. The company made two huge announcements at the mobile world Congress that took place two weeks ago in Barcelona.
One of them being the ability to purchase airtime and data using the Electroneum application. The Electroneum app also permits users to engage in Electroneum cloud mining and the rewards earned can be used to purchase airtime.
This use case will be applicable in South Africa as South Africans will be able to top up their airtime with the ETN application. These South Africans need to have free Sim card from the unlimited, MVNO in South Africa powered by Cell C and this would take less than 2hours.
Moreover, Electroneum has launched a smartphone available for purchase by costumers.
Electroneum has been chosen South Africa as the best location to implement their working ecosystem and users will get double the data and airtime purchases that they buy in ETN.
South Africa is indeed home to blockchain and cryptocurrency projects and innovations.
