It sounds like plot in a James Bond movie: Russian physicists tried to use the nuclear supercomputer in a government research facility in Sarow, to mine Bitcoin.
Unfortunately, the Supercomputer is not supposed to be connected to the internet due to security measures. When the scientists connected it, they got caught in the act and got arrested by security.
The Scientists are now in custody at the FSB, the Russian secret service and are now facing a charge for misuse of government property.
The supercomputer of the facility is capable of 1 PetaFLOP of computing power, so that would have been quite profitable for the scientists.
But mining in Russia is not unpopular, just recently a Russian businessman bought himself two power plants to power his mining facility.
