Kodak Miners?
The big surprise on this past CES 2018 was the Kodak's booth displaying a Bitcoin miner. The legendary camera company has had a weird evolution in the last years, loosing its primary market share to new the smartphone companies and new-comers like GoPro or similars, now has developed a new plan, migrate its technology and powerful infrastructure to the crypto world.
Kodak has announces a production of Bitcoin miners that are sold for $3,400 usd on a 2 year plan basis, which promises a $9000 usd profit at the current price, which still has not show much detail about how this licensing program exactly works. Kind of a strange model if you ask me, but lets hope they have a very good product.
It comes with an ICO
Kodak announced their own Initial Coin Offering that plans to fund a "photographers empowering platform". A blockchain platform to secure the intellectual property of the pictures on internet to the average photographer. The idea is that they have a search engine that could locate your photos wherever on the internet, recognize its proper owner and let the user know who is the photographer and offer a license payment made on the Kodak coin, so the transactions can be made instantaneously and easy for both parties, using the crypto Kodak service.
This might be giving everyone a cut for their material rights, give a chance for everyone to be a professional paid photographer maybe. The plans is start the sales to investors by the end of January.
