When i first got involved in crypto it was some weird world i didn't understand, I'd look at the graphs and the % gains and mostly only heard about bitcoin.
I started watching YouTube videos, hundreds of em. For like 2 weeks there was always a crypto related video playing or i was reading some Reddit threads etc
Anyway, the first place I signed up to buy stuff from was Coinbase, they verified me nice and fast and i was ready to go so i bought like $300? of BTC, i had mostly been keen on ripple so i used changelly to transfer it into XRP. Next payday i bought $100 of LTC and the next i bought some ETH, i was trying the whole set and forget but i was engrossed in it, staying up late as fk watching videos and tutorials, I came across a video by Treyvon James about Steem, i think I've mentioned before.
I signed up not thinking much of it, messed around posted some memes, got like 1c 2c and then i saw how much some people were making and i was like surely not, internet money from nowhere?
Alas i stuck to it and got better at it (subjective), my payouts got better i spose as well, so after about a month i threw in around $200 AUD into steem, $150 to SP and 50 SBD, with SBD at like $1 and Steem at like 90c i was like wooo not bad.
I started chatting in the discord and I was paying less attention to all the charts and stuff, life got a lil busy, next thing i know my LTC has gone from $50 to $300 my BTC has doubled, my Eth has tripled, my XRP has gone from 17c to 80c and my SBD is worth $15 each..
That's when i was like.... hang on, I've actually made some money here, like I'm in the green!
I spread my investments out a little, sold some LTC to buy BTS and used some BTC to buy POWER etc etc. Anyway did some calculations the other day and my $800 has turned into like 6k..woo!
It was at that point i thought well, why not pull out your initial investment and leave the profit in there to play with
So i sold 84 SBD and 33 Steem to LTC, and then transferred $800 AUD from my LTC wallet to LROS (living rooms of satoshi) and the next day $800 was in my bank account.
That's it, it was actually that easy. I have now pulled out my initial investment into crypto and still have around $5000 to play with sitting in the markets... This means even if Crypto is a scammy bubble that's about to burst I won't actually lose any money. Sure i'll lose some time but it's been fun too, that feeling when you first start to get into it and everything's interesting, cant take in enough info at once.
Since Steem has pumped and SBD too I've also been more motivated to post on Steemit and earn more. For some reason this has correlated with the holidays when I've been too busy to do much.. Work starts on Monday and the prices are dropping haha, oh well. Its hard because we all want to see the platform prosper but wouldn't it be great to buy more Steem at 70C? i was like hmmm should i throw in another 500 for Steem and decided against... if only.
It's hard because I want the platform to prosper but at the same time, the longer it stays dormant the more Steem i can hoard for cheapppp.
Anyway...
The point of this was that i think its a great idea to pull some profits out of your crypto every so often, sure your $500 could triple if you leave it in but what good is money if you can't enjoy it? imagine if crypto does crash and you've spent all that time working your ass off for nothing.. take something from it when you're making some good profits :P
I'm going to be getting alot deeper into crypto over the next 3 months, not in my blog but in real life. Moving to part time work will give me alot more time to watch graphs and check prices, will finally be able to post proper stuff and will hopefully be able to retire by 30 off crypto, I mean if i made 11x my money in 6 months doing fuck all... If that kept up compounding making 11x every 6 months I would have 7 million in 2 years. haha yea right, still, to dream hey.
