Blockchain.info now supports Ethereum
Blockchian.info is one of the world's oldest and most popular Bitcoin wallet and yesterday, August 17, 2017, it added Ethereum wallet to its service.
Also, it now integrates Shapeshift so users can easily exchange from BTC to ETH and vice versa.
Why did Blockchain.info made such decision? Peter Smith, CEO said that they see Ethereum as a community where the technology and ecosystem has truly matured and they feel that they need to add it to their service to make ETH known to other people who has not heard of it yet.
Blockchain.info is favored by many as the service is user-controlled wherein users hold their own private keys.
Blockstream Satellite is taking Bitcoin to the Moon
According to some cryptocurrency spectators, Blockstream Satellite launch could bring Bitcoin to future heights.
The project is still on its beta stage where it uses paid satellites to broadcast Bitcoin around the globe. It is the first service to broadcast real-time BTC transactions and blocks through satellites. This allows users to download or update a full node without the use of the internet.
Before the year ends, Blockstream expects that every region in the world will be covered by a satellite.
Shapeshift acquired Bitcoin hardware wallet startup Keepkey.
The cryptocurrency exchange Shapeshift has acquired Keepkey, a Bitcoin hardware wallet startup.
On August 16, 2017, Shapeshift started using the Keepkey brand and the team continues to work on more improvements on the product.
This deal comes after Shapeshift's $10 million funding round on March 2017. Keepkey's CTO, Ken Hodler said that this partnership will allow them to develop improved technology and security for cryptocurrency holders.
