Early on in my renewed personal finance quest, I applied to five jobs relating to cryptocurrency writing.
I figured that being proactive as early as possible was the best way for me to unearth new cryptocurrency industry opportunities. Perhaps my skills in this area would be valuable elsewhere.
Somebody had to need a person with experience reading dozens of white papers, right? Maybe?
It seemed like a useful task to share with my steem audience as well. Most of us have some level of experience with blockchain just by being here. For the members of steem who take it upon themselves to become educated in this space, there could be some lucrative jobs available.
One Application = One Opportunity
There was one company who needed an editor for their new cryptocurrency media website. I won’t name it since the deal is not finalized yet.
Although I realized that being an editor would be too much responsibility, I let the hiring manager know that I am available to write articles about blockchain and related subjects. If they needed to get a bunch of content relating to cryptocurrency, I might be a good guy for them.
It turned out that they did need it! They asked me to submit a few ideas for articles, which I promptly did. Now I have submitted my first article for approval. If they want it, I’ll be able to negotiate the final rate at that time.
You Never Know How it Will Turn Out
I have learned that the most important thing when looking for new gigs is to cast a wide net. Anybody who is hiring for anything remotely related to what you are trying to do is worth talking to. Even if the original opportunity does not pan out, there may be ancillary opportunities you can grab.
Timidness is the enemy of finding new opportunities. Unfortunately work rarely comes to you. You have to get out there and find the gig by going one step further than anybody else did. Luckily, blockchain has a lot of opportunity right now.
Today is probably a good time to start looking for new blockchain gigs if you are interested. We are in such a huge bull market and everybody is feeling optimistic.
We’ll See if This Gig Pans Out
I can’t get too excited until I get paid for my first article. That is when the gig becomes real. Until then, I will be cautiously optimistic…
Have you picked up any new gigs lately?
