Turkey has established a university-level blockchain center, first of its kind in the country, to grow more blockchain expertise as well as to promote deployment of the technology.
Local media reported that the name of the centre is Istanbul Blockchain and Innovation Center (BlockchainIST Center), which was opened at Bahçeşehir University (BAU).
Its director Bora Erdamar said BlockchainIST will become the most important center in the field of research, development and innovation in the country.
Here scientific studies and publications will be made in blockchain technologies, he said, adding that Turkey has a chance to become one of the leading countries in technology.
Erdamar emphasized on coordinated research and cooperation among other educational establishments, businesses, and government institutions on blockchain technology.
It should be mentioned here that a good number of universities around the world have already started offering blockchain technology and cryptocurrency-related courses.
