Breaking: IOHK and Emurgo take on the Cardano Foundation's duties and responsibilities
(Can you say, "Let's fire our own crypto's foundation?!")
I've been in the crypto space since late 2009.
This is the first time I have ever seen the maker (IOHK), the marketer (Emurgo), and the community (Guardians of Cardano) "fire" its own foundation!
IMHO, I wish this happened much earlier with the Bitcoin Foundation...
Here's a good article about the situation:
"Charles Hoskinson Announcement: IOHK and Emurgo Sever Ties With the Cardano Foundation"
The Cardano community woke up to the news of a split between the Cardano Foundation, IOHK, and Emurgo on Oct. 12th.
Charles Hoskinson, the CEO of IOHK confirmed the split in a YouTube live stream and gave insights into the events leading to the fallout.
The split was caused by lack of diversity in the Cardano Foundation board, lack of financial transparency, lack of clear vision and a public plan, and elements of nepotism.
