1- Using digital currencies synonymously with the term cryptocurrencies, a paper published by the Bank of Finland and written by one of its advisors argues that cryptocurrencies aren't real forms of money.

According to Aleksi Grym, the central bank's digitalization advisor, cryptocurrencies are "not currencies at all but rather accounting systems for non-existent assets."

2 - Palladium, a Malta-based blockchain company, is today launching the world’s first fully regulated Initial Convertible Coin Offering (ICCO) to give investors peace of mind and a stake in the future of virtual currencies.

3 - A joint effort by the U.K. trading platform, eToro, and the Imperial College London, that put forward a study that online cryptocurrency payments with bitcoin and other digital currencies already meet one of the three criteria that people use to define money. The news is positive for crypto users worldwide that within a decade, performing online transactions with crypto could be commonplace in the mainstream.

4 - The bear market for bitcoin and other virtual tokens has dragged down Coinbase, a digital-asset exchange and darling of the crypto-startup world. As prices plunge, the exchange’s download ranking has fallen to its lowest level among US finance apps since April last year. The drop reflects the fleeting fancy of retail traders that comprise most of the buying and selling in crypto markets.

5 - A hacker has breached a Hola VPN developer account and has replaced the official Chrome extension with one that redirected users of the MyEtherWallet.com website to a phishing page controlled by the attacker.

The compromise took place yesterday and only lasted for five hours the MyEtherWallet (MEW) team said in a tweet. The Hola VPN team admitted to the hack.
