By now, you've probably heard about the airdrop from Byteball done specially for Steem users, and hopefully signed up, but if not here it is in a nutshell:
Byteball is a decentralized system that allows tamper proof storage of arbitrary data, including data that represents transferrable value such as currencies, property titles, debt, shares, etc. ...
There is an internal currency called ‘bytes’ that is used to pay for adding data into the decentralized database. Other currencies (assets) can also be freely issued by anyone to represent property rights, debt, shares, etc. Users can send both bytes and other currencies to each other to pay for goods/services or to exchange one currency for another.

All you need to do to get a decent amount of GBYTE (exactly how much depends on your reputation here, but you can find the exact amounts on the announcement post) is install the wallet, link it to your Steem account and voila! There is a transmission fee to be paid, so you need another Byteball user to send you that before you can verify (unless you wanna buy some yourself), so let me know down in the comments or via Discord if you'd like to sign up for this and I can send you the 0.0006 GB you need to get started. You can find the instructions on how to get setup at the bottom of the announcement post.
You can download the wallet from their official website, available in iOS, Android, Windows, Linux, Mac or for the tech savvy amongst us you can compile your own. You get half of the reward from the fund pool now, and half is locked away in a smart contract which is unlocked after one year. It definitely looks like an interesting project, and I encourage you to do a bit of research before deciding whether you want to sign up. I normally stay well clear of airdrops, but it's a decent amount and the platform has a lot of promise.
Let me know your thoughts and feelings, or if you'd like to sign up, down below and as always make sure to follow for the latest Technology, Internet and Pop Culture updates. If you wanna chat with me on Discord, hope on over to my server. Until next time, take it easy!
