It's official... Japan's 3 largest banking institutions now support Ripple!
In a recent announcement by Ripple,
All three of Japan’s largest banks have now joined the Japan bank consortium using Ripple, including Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), MUFG and Mizuho. We also welcome Japan Post Bank to the roster of the top banks by assets using Ripple for payments in Japan.
This is amazing news! Just a year ago, SBI Ripple Asia was announcing the Japanese consortium of banks that would begin implementing Ripple technology. The consortium, which started out at just 47 banks, has now grown to 61, representing more than 80% of total banking assets in Japan.
Ripple won't be stopping here though. They continue to add forward thinking banking institutions to their client list both within Asia and the rest of the world.
Ripple is on their way to doing big things within the regulated world of banking institutions. Don't be surprised when you start hearing some of the largest banks in the world joining the ever growing list of institutions using Ripple!
