A wind farm in #Romania will be used for mining
The #Canadian company Transeastern Power Trust completed the acquisition of the Dobratsu wind farm in Romania. Electricity generated by 15 wind power plants with a total capacity of 45 MW will be used for mining crypto-currency, profit.ro reports.
To this end, the Ontario company entered into a non-binding agreement on the purchase of mining equipment for $ 23 million. According to Transeastern, the newly created mining farm will have a processing capacity of 90.7 PH / s, which will produce about 30 bitcoins per day.
"We believe that we will become pioneers of a new and reliable business model with switching from a utility company to vertically integrated activities for the production of crypto-currency," Transeastern CEO J. Colter Eadie told the Romanian edition.
Similar projects the company implements through its subsidiaries in the Netherlands. Due to a change in the profile of the company, Transeastern decided to change its name to Blockchain Power Trust.
