There’s a new exchange launching in South Korea over the next couple weeks: Upbit
They’re partnering with Bittrex and have over 110 alts listed.
South Korean volume is huge (daily trading volume is already larger than Japan and China), and previously South Koreans could only hold a few alts, so that means we can expect the alts listed on Upbit to see decent price spikes.
It might be a reasonable expectation that major coins like BTC and ETH will fall as South Koreans move into alts. But there’s a good chance that’ll be balanced out as we’ll probably also see a lot more South Korean money pouring into the crypto ecosystem. I’d actually guess BTC and ETH rise over the couple weeks as a result. But there’s always other unrelated news, and, as always, DYOR.
Looking at Upbit’s volume here for various alts is a good starting place after trading opens up to the masses. For example, ETH/BTC is currently 48,280.51074544 ETH, though that figure likely won't reflect the true Upbit volume till a couple weeks out.
I wasn't able to find a list in english of all the alts on Upbit, so I thought I'd scrape them and share them here with the Steemit community.
Here's a list of all the trading pairs currently on Upbit:
