"Path. The Crypto Coin Tracker was created out of my own frustration tracking cryptocurrency assets."
Wanted to share this with the group. Looking for feedbacks and early users.
(This is the write-up from the about page - I am hoping to write a full/detailed blog this week on the challenges/journey.)
Path. The Crypto Coin Tracker was created out of my own frustration tracking cryptocurrency assets. Like many, I started with a simple spreadsheet that grew into a complex jumble of rows and columns. Diligently making entries when I can. Missing a single entry, meant hours spent months later finding the right place to make the correction.
Although each exchange did an adequate job of tracking an exchange's own portfolio and trading history, this was a very narrow view. Any crypto movement in/out of the exchange meant intensive manual record keeping. Even for popular exchanges Coinbase and Coinbase Pro (formerly GDAX), owned and operated by the same company, there was disjointed tracking between the two exchanges.
There's got to be a better solution. Others agreed and many coin trackers started to appear on the market. I was overjoyed, finally, I can get rid of my spreadsheets (which are seriously out of date). However, things were not what I expected. These trackers claimed to support many exchanges. In practice, they were simply importing the data and expect the user to manually make the relationships for coin movement. Essentially manual work was moved from the spreadsheet to manual work on someone's platform (and in some cases, paying for the privilege!!).
So here we are today. Path.'s goal is to be a secure system, to help the user gain a full understanding of their assets. Have a full 360 view of their portfolio with minimal intervention. Let technology make the relationships and calculation. To present a consistent view of all their exchanges and wallets. Presenting the full picture across the crypto ecosystem.
