In many countries, the authorities are hostile to crypto-currencies, China, Vietnam, Thailand - the list of countries with strict prohibitions is growing. Perhaps soon this "club" will be joined by Russia. February 15, 2018 in the Russian media appeared an interesting message:
The Ural lawyer Andrei Belyansky (managing partner of the law firm Belyanskiy and partners) sent an appeal to the Prosecutor General's Office of Russia with a request to inspect and apply to the court with an initiative to prohibit the circulation of crypto currency. The lawyer explains his step by increasing appeals to the lawyers' bureau from residents who buy cryptocurrencies on "exchange services".
For the site Znak.com Andrei Belyansky said, the turnover of the cryptocurrency must be qualified as "the turnover of money surrogates". The release of the cryptocurrency is not settled at the moment, it is impossible to determine the ultimate beneficiary, the crypto-currencies are not secured, - Belyanskiy lists the negative aspects of the circulation of the cryptocurrency.
"In fact, in a number of commercial organizations, cryptocurrencies are used as an alternative means of payment, along with the Russian currency and electronic money. Individuals, as well as in some cases legal entities, purchase goods and services in exchange for units of crypto currency. Thus, there is a replacement of the ruble's turnover in commodity-money relations, which is also a threat to the integrity of the state system, "concludes Andrei Belyansky.
So he asked the Prosecutor General's Office to verify the legality of the turnover of the cryptocurrency in the territory of the Russian Federation, give a legal assessment, and also, by virtue of the provisions of Article 46 of the Civil Procedure Code, initiate a trial in defense of an indefinite circle of persons with the aim of preventing the spread of money surrogates on the territory of the Russian Federation.
"This activity is criminal, because it allows a certain number of citizens to steal money from a fairly large number of citizens. I believe that my task will be fulfilled if I save at least one Russian family from ruin, "concluded the lawyer.
There is a video on the Internet, where the lawyer Andrei Belyansky explains his position (in Russian)
In my opinion, it is very cynical that he proclaims his goal as "saving at least one Russian family from ruin." In fact, the situation is exactly the opposite - earnings in cryptoword save many Russians from poverty (just look at Steemit!).
p.s.
Let's hope that this is just a self-promotion of this lawyer, but I have a feeling that in Russia all operations with crypto-currencies will be banned, our government can not allow freedom in such an important sphere as
money turnover.
