I've compiled a list of great tools that can give you some interesting insights into crypto projects, if you know what to look for. Now every indicator in itself isn't necessary a "good" indicator of anything. I wouldn't trade solely relying on any of these. But it's always great to have some more background knowledge of what's going on in your favourite projects which you may not otherwise see in your feed.
Below is a compilation of such tools I've come across over time. Let me know if I've missed any obscure ones!

- Cryptflix: For those just getting started and having tough time making sense of the thousands of coins and their purpose.
1] Github commit stats
Coincheckup:
Note that this can be misleading for a couple of reasons:First, the Y axis doesn't represent the same height for all the projects.
Second, they're only number of commits. Doesn't say anything of the quality of those commits. So be careful not to
rely on the stats when it comes to your favourite shitcoins. One important thing to note is that you can further order by No. of commits per year, stargazers, number of forks etc.
Cryptomiso:
To make things easier, this website ranks the projects based on number of commits. I can't say why Komodo doesn't show up as #1 in the coincheckup link though, when you order by number of commits per year.. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
2] Outputs per day (Bitcoin)
Outputs per day is a better indicator of overall economic activity on the Bitcoin blockchain than transactions per day. Since one transaction can include multiple outputs, the number of total outputs is more important than the number of transactions themselves. Large players in the Bitcoin space use batching--the process of including multiple outputs in a given transaction--to reduce their overall transaction fees. Therefore, looking at only transactions misses an important part of the picture. So, we've created outputs.today to track Bitcoin outputs.
3] Daily unique addresses (Bitcoin)
Blockchain info
4] Mempool size (Bitcoin)
This page displays the number and size of the unconfirmed bitcoin transactions, also known as the transactions in the mempool. It gives a real-time view and shows how the mempool evolves over the time. The transactions are colored by the amount of fee they pay per byte. The data is generated from my full node and is updated every minute. Note that in bitcoin there is no global mempool; every node keeps its own set of unconfirmed transactions that it has seen. The mempool is also cleared when I reboot my node. The idea is based on the retired service bitcoinqueue.com.
In case a transaction pays exactly the fee that defines the boundary between stripes, it is included in the higher stripe. Free transactions are not included, even if they make it into the mempool.
5] Transaction fees over time
6] Blockchain activity
One way to consider a blockchain project is through its market cap. Another way, closer to the real value, is observing the activity on the blockchain. Lots of FUD and HYPE are responsible for "misplaced" capital in the cryptocurrency space. Here, we are observing which project is actually being used by people, which is in our opinion, the best predictive indicator of value you can have.
7] Twitter mentions
8] Daily payouts of different mining pools (Bitcoin)
9] Bitcoin price equivalence
Bitcoin Price Equivalence is a calculation of price, if the coin had the same supply as Bitcoin.
BPE normalises price by removing unit bias, coins that look "cheap" are probably not as cheap as you think
Total Coin Supply / Total BTC supply * Coin Price
10] Google trends (Bitcoin)
- Google trends: Some say there's a correlation between Bitcoin price and the google trend results. I wouldn't bet on it but it's always nice to see such simple indicators.
11] Crypto News
- Cryptoflash: A cryptocurrency news aggregator. I personally can't stand the dark look though.
12] One true shitcoin list
- Deadcoins: A curated list of scamcoins, parody, hacks and deadcoins.
13] Crypto forks
h/t [- Map of Coins: A visual representation of all the forks of some cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Bytecoin.
14] Masternodes
- Investitin
- Masternodes online
- Masternodes pro
- Google doc: A comprehensive list of Masternodes, their cost and ROI.
