Ah the wonder of the internet - all it takes is a website, a healthy disregard for the perils of credit card spending and a man with a van, and all sorts of goodies turn up at your door!! The bulk of the kit for building our rig has turned up today - now I would love to say I would have much of an idea where to start but I am figuring that if I an wrap my grey matter around it, most people could!
Feast your beady little eyes on this lot - there is more on the floor but it sits nestled amidst all my piles of magazines, so I have declined to post that picture!
My bro, the technical build brains behind the operation, is busying away building the frame and working out a couple of additional cooling options. Going for a wooden frame at this stage - we found a custom build metal frame which would hold the 6 GPUs but the cost of postage was 50% of the cost of the frame so we decided to go home built for now.
He is heading over early next week to get it all built and up and running - will take pics as we go through the build (and as I learn!) and will post those in due course.
Then for the deliberations on what to mine - probably going down the dual route. Ethereum pretty high up the list to get a few months in before the proof of stake deadline - so many others out there to choose from so there will be a lot of research needed as to the pros and cons of each, the team behind them, etc, etc. Pity I couldn't have ordered a crystal ball at the same time!
