The cryptocurrency fell to $ 6,583.85 today according the index of CoinDesk markets. It bounced back later,rising to $6,918.70, additional BPI figures show.
Bitcoin has dropped more than 60% of the height reached in December when it reached nearly $ 20.000. The digital currency had both declines and significant recoveries during that time, falling below $ 6,000 in early February, and then way back to nearly $ 12,000 later that month. It also suffered additional volatility between $6,500 and $7,500 for much of the last week.
Some predictors are eyeing $3,000 as the eventual bottom but according to others it's more likely to find support at $6,000 plus-minus $1,000 — before picking up again.
