On ctp we often have people ask "Where is your picture?" or say "Brand yourself." I agree with branding, but wonder if a well-designed, distinctive logo can work as well as or better than a tiny portrait of the promoter's face.
My logo is not terribly clever or inspired yet, so I still use it in conjunction with my photograph at times. However, I got to thinking how a great logo is really what we remember about many products and services. Think of the Monster energy drink logo--does anyone know what the person who formulated the beverage looks like? Yet I would argue that Monster is branded well.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on best practices when it comes to business logos, use of personal pictures, or combinations of both.
