Does anyone read the bible anymore? Or did anyone read the bible before they attended church? Is reading the bible an afterthought?
I am going to touch on a couple of topics but first I am starting at Genesis. I don't see the 10 commandments posted in Genesis. God does rest on the seventh day and makes the seventh day holy.
Resting on the seventh day is one of the tens commandments that starts in Genesis that also shows up as one of the ten commandments. The other law in Genesis, is that Adam and Eve not partake of the tree of "knowledge of good and evil." God also says that after you eat from it Adam and Eve will die. First point, they eat of it and do not die? Why? Is is the death of the relationship between God and Adam and Eve that dies because they both where kicked out of the garden of Eden?
What is the "Death" that God is referring to? It isn't a biological death?
Do we have free will? Was Adam and Eve granted free will? If so, then why where they punished for eating the forbidden fruit? If we go one step before the ten commandments, why have rules when you have free will?
What then is free will?
Before we get past Genesis, the question of responsibility surfaces. We see that Eve blames the serpent and Adam blames Eve? No one here that accepts responsibility for their own actions.
In my opinion this is our original sin. Refusing to hold ourselves accountable for our own actions.
Moving on to Moses and the ten commandments. God states in Genesis that the seventh day is holy and then Moses comes down from the mountain and makes it official as a writing in stone.
The million dollar question is this, "What is the seventh day according to our calendar?" "SATURDAY".
Who ever said it was SUNDAY???????
Why does 90% of the Christain population attend Church on Sunday? Clearly any bible reading Christain who has read Genesis and/or the ten commandments knows this?
So what will be your EXCUSE for not obeying the Sabbath day?
The church made me do it?
Which leads to the other commandment, not having any other God's before me? Since when was man infallible? If a man is infallible then I consider him a god. I refuse to accept man as a God!
Hence, why, I follow no man and/or religion. I worship on Saturday by resting and do not, nor will not attend Church on Sunday.
On a side note. I have zero Identification as a Seventh Day and/or of the Jewish faith.
