My journey here in México has been one of many wonders, miracles, connections, but also a tiny whif of drama sometimes. As it is everywhere. That's fine. I can handle it.
And the blessings just keep coming in all kinds of ways, so the little bit of drama keeps me on my toes and alert hehe.
So what's new?
The Connections
Last week I participated in a special ceremony. I don't want to give away too much but it was quite something. But the connections I made there with complete strangers was just amazing. People I hadn't even spoken to! We just connected with the heart, and we knew it. It was amazing. And a guy there taught me how to smoke clean organic tobacco with love. That was a bonus.
I'm writing this now from my favourite spot in Playa, where I met my friends Lluna and Mazin () MUCH too late. (MY fault, as per usual 🙄😅).
They've since left and I'm waiting for my son and his buddy to get here so they don't starve today.
L & M are leaving next week so trying to see them before that once more hopefully...
They need suitcases which I have, and I need bicycles which they have haha, so I'll definitely see them one more time. I'll be sad to see them go but I know they won't be able to resist coming back, so all is good.
Then, this week I had a (kinda) business meeting. The second time I met the person involved, together with my friend.
We agreed the first time that this time would be a 1 hour meeting. Well, it turned into something close to 4 hours.
I can't really reveal too much yet because some of it is quite sensitive but I will write about it soon. Either way, that meeting was a revelation. Brain meltingly so...
My plan for the next few days
I've been up and running around for so many days, all good. But I realised that I need some time at home to learn a few things.
I need to edit a shit load of video footage. I can edit but I'm not a pro by any means. So I want to step it up a bit and learn more skills.
I know it won't be a one or two day thing but this weekend, I definitely want to spend some hours on that part. I used free software in the past, which worked out fine but now I'm thinking of getting a paid version. I'll have to test it first to see which would suit me best. If anyone has any suggestions then please let me know. I have Final Cut Pro on my list, as well as Davinci resolve and Adobe Premiere. Let me know if you have any experience with any of these please!
Our papers
Our tourist visas are running out on the 16th of May. 180 days after our arrival here.
I need more time...
I couldn't apply for our residency just yet for several reasons.
Soon I'll be able to but not just yet.
So we have to extend our visa, which used to be easy to do. You'd either leave the country and come back, or pay for extention.
They're making things more difficult for people returning to Mexico, so now some people won't get the full 180 days.
I'm figuring things out on how to get the 180 days. Once that's sorted, I then have 6 months to get our residency documents started.
Wish me luck!!!
So as you can see, lots to do, lots to think about, and lots to arrange.
One thing is sure: Never a dull day in paradise!
