Korea's Sing Along Culture
Recently, Ariana Grande has performed in South Korea for the first time. After the first concert, she is under fire for being rude and unprofessional behaviour.
She arrived in Korea 3 hours before the performance begin. Of course, there was no rehearsal. Fans who spent over $600 for VIP tickets requested refunds since they couldn’t see the rehearsals which originally planned. And the lack of communication with the fans during the 2-hour performance made the audience more disappointed.
Artists who had performed in Korean often said, Korean audiences have passionate, and they know how to enjoy the show. And they got impressed by the culture called Tte-chang which means group singing or sing along.
What is Korea's sing along culture? Check this PSY’s video! You will find out ;)
Everyone's memorized the lyrics and singing with the artist. So, if you are there you get the impression that artist is a not only person who on the stage, everyone is on the stage.
This is a funny video that Pharrell got impressed by Korean's group singing haha.
There is an American band called FUN. They were invited to some Korean music festival in 2013. When the song "We are young" started, the audience started singing altogether. In the interview after the show, they said, "we were really surprised because even in America we’re not that famous but Korean people memorized our songs."
The culture dances and enjoys singing in live concerts in any country, but there is no country singing group like Korea. So, the artists who have been performed in Korea often visit again.
Even Ariana made her fans disappointed before and after the show, however, other fans still showed their support to her.
I would like to see professional Ariana Grande next time in Korea! :)
