I find it infuriating when a corrupt politician, or anyone with a significant amount of power over other people, resigns after a scandal emerges. Yes. I'm talking about Andrew Snake Cuomo specifically today, but this applies to anyone legitimately guilty.
He had multiple allegations of sexual harrasment and he basically said it's not true. I don't know if he's guilty and I haven't read any specific complaints. From the pictures that I saw, it reminds me of old time politics where you be affectionate for photos to make you seem like a warm, loving, caring person that just wants to help everyone. A walking Sears catalog really.
What I do know is that he directly caused thousands of deaths by mixing covid patients into senior homes, causing a very large percentage of the total covid deaths early on. This is criminal. This isn't stupidity. A 7 year old knows not to visit grandma when you're sick, especially if she's too fragile to live at home anymore. Surely the governor of New York thought of the risks. This doesn't warrant a punishment of just him losing his job.
His punishment so far is early retirement with a very wealthy bank account. To sum it up, he got embarrased as punishment. He needs to be investigated and thrown in jail. Him resigning shouldn't be pacifying anyone. Again it's what I'm seeing from social media comments. "Good bye" "Good riddance" "Finally, he's gone forever".
No, he's not gone, he's fine. He's a very well connected wealthy citizen. He wasn't a king that was dethroned. Him being the same status as a normal citizen shouldn't make anyone feel sorry for him. Politicians aren't our masters, they're civil servants.
That's my rant. It's already old news to people and that is also a problem with how we are handling the corrupt keepers of power.
