The Curator's Choices
brings an intriguing perspective to this piece on the value of your Steemit account. It's one you may not have considered. It's one a lot of Steemians may not have considered, in my experiences around the platform.
But by not treating your Steemit account like an asset -- or better still, a business -- you're seriously undercutting its potential ... and costing yourself dearly. Learn why he says this ... and how you can do it better. It's a lesson worth taking to heart.
This essay from is the latest entry in an impressive work of scholarship. As I wrote before, this series unfolds like a documentary in text, built partly of history, partly of archaeology, it explores the ancient world. This installment deals with the underground City of Derinkuyu in Cappadocia, Turkey. If the very idea of that intrigues you, step inside,

With leadership comes power, responsibilities ... and problems. offers thoughts on what to do when those latter things show up. This spontaneous video delivers food for thought ... and reasons to watch it several times. Now more than ever in this interconnected world, people are still people. And where people gather, problems soon follow.
I know you're used to seeing articles and pictures in this list. This isn't either of those. Instead, it's a charming musical interlude that still has me wondering... how on earth does he do that background trill while he's playing. I've watched this thing three times. I still don't get it.
I told you last time is drinking his way around the world -- sort of. Actually, he's drinking all kinds of different beers from around the world and reviewing them. Yesterday it was Western Australia. Today it's Belgium. Who know where he'll be staggering next. Since I ratted him out last time, he won't tell me. You'll have to follow his blog to find out. You could do worse. Just sayin'.
Croatia's got talent!! Duro -- who hides out under the identity -- proves it by going through his refrigerator, pulling out some vegetables I'd normally throw in the trash, and turns them into a beautiful risotto for dinner. Now it's possible this one caught my eye because I was so ready for lunch when I saw it.
But no kidding. Would you imagine a guy (a guy!!) could turn a battered eggplant, one zucchini and some very suspicious looking carrots into a lunch that looks like this? But then again, Croatia's a poor country. They've had a hard time. Maybe the people there will eat anything.

The days when your cooking imagination kicks in,
and you are lazy to go to grocery store.
With freedom comes responsibility. argues that's no less true for free speech than for any of the others. How you present your ideas can have just as much impact on your audience as the ideas themselves.
If you want to convince someone of your position, rather than just squall insults and call him names, how you talk to him can make a difference. People are more apt to give you a fair hearing if you're not belligerent or condescending. No one responds well to being harangued and belittled.
Yes, you may have "freedom of speech" guaranteed in the Constitution, but nobody has the obligation to listen. Figure out how you want to come across before you start to speak. It makes a difference.
I still hadn't had lunch when I came across this one. It felt like a conspiracy. More great photos and some exotic-looking seafood, a Chinese dish to engage both the eyes and the imagination. On an empty stomach, this felt really cruel. The pictures tell you why.
I keep saying I'm not much for poetry. The Steemian writers keep proving me wrong. Hmmm. Maybe I'm more high-brow than I thought!

People who know this stuff tell me this guy makes sense. I'll have to take their word for it. Perhaps you speak his language. Or vice versa.
