What is your community / project and what is its purpose here on Steem?
Natural Medicine is a global community that works hard to support and nurture people who understand the importance of alternative medicines and more holistic ways of nurturing our bodies, minds, hearts, and spirits.
We support quality content, offer a warm and inviting community, encourage engagement, help new members, run regular contests and promote & feature members to help grow their accounts. We are continually rolling out new initiatives to keep our members engaged and interested, from incentives to posting on Dtube, offering steem via a Discord bot, inviting people to write editorials, giving out a weekly 'hump day' SBI prize for people under 500 SP, delegating to new users and employing an 'engage before post promo' rule.
The strength of our community and the quality of our content writers and contributors can be seen in the video below.
How will this support be used?
We propose to offer an exciting series of weekly contests sponsored by Curie. These contests will boost engagement, reward more people and increase engagement, as well as help create engaging and worthy content that shows off the best of steem.
With your support, we'll be able to improve our existing rewards pool while also adding bonus opportunities that we hope will create buzz and excitement.
The Steem that Curie provides will be matched from our own prize pool to maximize the overall rewards that we can offer.
For an example of the type of contests that we have run can find our most recent contest wrap up post here. Our challenges have been based around the central theme 'natural wisdoms', which might be philosophical writing around a controversial question, personal anecdotes of the impact of natural medicines on our lives, and more practical, pragmatic entries which offer instructions or recipes. All of our topics have inspired passionate responses and often exemplary content.
How much support are you seeking per month for the two months?
We would appreciate 80-100 Steem per month for the two month period.
Approximately how many users participate in your community or project?
We have 140 community members in our Discord and 798 followers. A lot of non-members also make use of our tag #naturalmedicine and #mindfullife, a new project under the Natural Medicine banner which focusses on meditation or mindfulness and a healing and nurturing activity. We have been active since July 2018 and continue to embrace new members weekly.
How will supporting your community or project help grow the Steem community?
We aim to build a group of loyal and dedicated members. We recognize that onboarding is only the first part of the challenge with growing the steem community. The second part is establishing tools and strategies that keep these new members active, engaged and coming back for more.
We have a lot of ideas and new initiatives we are working on; however, contests are highly popular and an essential aspect of our strategy. We'd like to encourage a broader audience to participate in the contest. Our hope that that rewards and positive feedback will help build more members that feel connected to and excited about all STEEM has to offer.
Through Curie's support, we also hope to use this buzz to help power up, support our staff (who currently help us work on curation projects, minnow support, onboarding through Facebook and Instagram, help run the Discord and so on) and have the impetus to continue building this fresh, engaging and innovative community - including building a website and getting involved in tokens.
