We're in the first week of the Tour the France and after a few days for the sprinters we finally begin with the first serious climbs.
Today the riders are facing the first tough climbs in the 163 kilometer stage 5 from Pau to Laruns.
They first have to climb the Col de Soudet; a 15 kilometer climb with an average grade of 7,2%.
This is the toughest climb of the day. This might be a great opportunity for an early escape.

They then go on to the Col d'Ichère which is a relatively short climb of the third category. The third climb of the day is the Col de Marie Blanque. It's almost 8 kilometers long and starts relatively easy, but the last part of the climb is quite steep with a maximum of 13,6%.
I wonder what this will do with the overall leaderboard.
