In preparation for tomorrow's gig my musical partner and I met up in Baldock to check out the venue. Balstock takes place in various pubs and some outdoor stages. We will be at The George at 8pm. We had a chat with the sound guy to check he had all we needed and it looks like there will be no issues. We only have a few minutes to set up, but we just have a clarinet plus my guitar and ukulele to plug in.
We both cycled there. Danielle has an e-bike, but I just have a normal mountain bike. I had not ridden to Baldock before, but it only took about half an hour with a fair bit off the roads.
We met a few friends there. There was a band called Electric Black playing in one pub followed by our friends Lanterne Rouge who we have seen plenty of times.
I did not want to stay too late as I need to be rested for tomorrow and want to do parkrun in the morning. The ride back was the first I have done in the dark in a long time. I have some new rechargeable lights that worked quite well. I think I was going quick that way, but a couple of beers may have helped that. I was on the road more as it just has less obstacles and there was not much traffic. I could have logged it with , but I just have it in Google Fit.
It is a busy weekend as has organised a meetup in Cambridge on Sunday that I plan to go to. I will not be cycling all that way, but I may take the train.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.
