I'm sure a lot of people wonder how it must be to be sorrounded by broken cars every single day. For me, it's a combination of fun and frustration. Work can be stressful, but knowing that my customers trust me with their cars makes me work harder to feel satisfied with what we've done and for them to leave my shop happy.
There are days when things just work out, we find the problem right away, and I can make a customer happy without sweating much. Some other days, things don't seem to be working. We spend hours attempting to find issues, hunting them, as if we are playing some sort of cat and mouse game.
These days I have a lot of work and I guess that is a good . But the easiest one I'm working on, is also the one I'm doing for a friend. Not that I would do only good work for friends, but there's always extra pressure to deliver.
By the way, 's car is almost ready. I sent him some pictures today. I'm having to order some rubber parts and welding some hooks to hold his exhaust pipe. I bet you he didn't know he was about to leave his guts in the middle of the road.
These days, we are also working on re-aliving an engine. You can see it professionally placed on top of a tire in the middle of my shop :)
Now this is something I really like because everyday is something different, oil change, new battery, replace spark plugs, reset a check engine light, clean injectors, give a diagnostic to an issue etc etc.
Nothing like a car getting new rubbers. There's something that screams happiness to me, when cars get their new kicks.
And when I though the day was over, I received a call from a customer that had issues starting her car and off course was the fuel pump, So we stop on our way home to help her.
So, basically this is a day in my shop !!!
I wanted to give a special shoutout to everyone who supported my introduction post. It has been overwhelming to see so many people being so friendly to "the new guy".
I think I'm going to like it here...
