The sun then took a pace like that of a walk in a funeral
As if to imply a message I must embrace
I lifted my eyes to the colors of dusk
Today meets its demise like the end of a runner's race.
My gaze now transfixed to the sunlit clouds
As my thoughts soar to heavenly heights
From a state of dreaming, I was
Now spiraling down fearing the disappearance of the light.
My gaze fell from the heavens to the rough grounds
Unnoticed were the tears that left my weary eyes
In sorrow recollecting the intentions of my life
Yet in love I bid the fading light goodbye.
