According to the definition on Wikipedia:
A grassroots movement is one which uses the people in a given district, region, or community as the basis for a political or economic movement. Grassroots movements and organizations use collective action from the local level to effect change at the local, regional, national, or international level.
Now idk about how others see the idea of decentralization succeeding without this, but it is clear to me that the only way to achieve true decentralization is through “grassroots movements”.
Where the people are the generator for advancement and the heart of change.
While many others still prefer the divide and conquer techniques, in which people are lead to believe that they are “independent” as individuals, yet are nothing more than yet anther “cog” in a machine that has been designed and manufactured by those who believe it is their God given right to rule over others.
Yes, the concept of decentralization, although it is thrown around by many and used in the deception of the masses for agendas that are anything but decentralized, is still a concept that is achievable.
How?
Responsibility, action and discipline on an individual level.
Each and every individual has to take action, be disciplined in that the individual is not taking on more than what they are able to complete, thus completing the actions and then be responsible for them.
Responsibility is definitely the key element in any attempt of true decentralization.
Yet, how can accountability be introduced into the process without it being yet another form of centralized policing?
The answer to that are the following three must haves in any attempt of decentralization:
Transparent,
Open
&
Public.
Transparency must be ensured at all stages and at all levels. Hence removing any doubt or ability to mislead the people.
Open, meaning that it has to be done out in the open and be open at the same time. All contributions must never be behind closed doors.
&
Public, in that the public, the people are a part of each and every step within the processes. Otherwise, no matter how much it may seem “easier” in this world where people fear people, there is no chance of success.
OK, so then Why have we never seen anything of the sort to date?
Well, that is a good question and all I can say is that we all need to look at ourselves in the mirror and ask the one and only person who is the key to any grassroots initiative.
As long as each person involved sticks to the above guidelines, there is little to no chance of deliberate error. Whilst if only one person starts to see themselves as being an authoritarian it starts to fail in its path.
Again, human nature is not something that can be changed overnight as it is dependent upon ones inner being. Who wants to rule the world?
Do you?
I surely don’t.
But I can’t simply sit back and not say anything about those that by their actions prove that all they want is power and many a time they see that power is linked with earthly riches, aka “money”.
While there is nothing wrong with building wealth, there is something definitely wrong when the wealth is in itself the goal, with nothing to better the world. Hence for ones own hunger for power.
Feeding that beast within has never brought about any good. Look back at all those who lived for the riches and yet got buried and turned to dust just like any other human being on this planet.
They all failed in their quests. No matter how flamboyant they may have been with the material riches that are temporarily worth something to some, yet tomorrow démodé and as such worthless.
Before than what this thought trail goes too deep into the evils that have cost humanity so much throughout the ages, it is best that it be cut off here.
There is definitely enough food for thought in the above text, to get you thinking and not “reacting”.
Constructive actions are those that are well thought through and as such become proactive actions as they lead to something new.
Can we achieve true decentralization?
